POST
In a blog post respond to the following statements: I think...I feel...I wonder...
Make connections to your own experiences.
I think it's great that people are rebuilding and improving over the terrible hurricane. I feel like people lost their life, family, and hope. People are still suffering till this day because they don't have all the money to rebuild or it's taking forever to replace their belongings. I wonder what it was like for the people to live in different places and see the difference of how there state is now compared to the wreck of the hurricane.
ReplyDeleteI think with what happened to Rockaway, New York, was horrible and devastating. I feel sorry for everyone that lives there because they have to go through this and I feel like no one should have to go through it. It's a tragedy that many people are still suffering without a home and is having no choice but to live in a hotel or shelter!
ReplyDeleteI think hurricane Sandy made New York look like a big waste land! I feel that the people who lost there homes should get help from everyone else. I wonder if people donated money if it would help the people who lost there homes out?
ReplyDeleteI think that the storm has brought the people together an has brought them to where they are now being in there homes .I feel sad that some never got there homes back and are living elsewhere .I wonder if this kinda thing happened to the world, would the whole world come together and help each other?

DeleteI think they had a worst storm that they have ever seen but I feel like they will overcome it with heart, help, and courage and I feel sorry for them because they went threw everything. I wonder when will people be back in there homes for good and how they are feeling now and where is they getting money from.
ReplyDeleteI think that what happened is really bad. I feel bad for all of the people who are still suffering. I wonder how many people have moved to a different state or just stayed their and tried to help make it better.
ReplyDeleteI think that the government should donate to the people that have in hotels for homes. I feel that the survivors have made excellent progress with rebuilding the homes. I wonder how much do those people have to pay for staying in the hotel?
ReplyDeleteI think the government should focus on the hurricane sandy survivors so they can have a place to live. I feel that the government is not trying to help the sandy survivors. I wonder when they would finish the rebuilding of the houses and help the home less.
ReplyDeleteI think that people who lost there home and live in a hotel should have got help from the government to rebuild there house. I feel that the people who homes that weren't badly as damaged as others could have shared there house with the people in the hotels. I wonder how much money they have already used for rebuilding.
ReplyDeletetheir home, their house
DeleteWould you share your home with a stranger for over a year? There were many without homes most were renters who did not have insurance to rebuild. That information was stated in the articles we read
I think what they had to go through was really bad , stressful. and emotional. I feel I that what we had was bad, not being in school for so long and doing a different system. but knowing what they had to go through was much worse. I wonder how they got rid of the water in peoples houses and how long it took them to get all the water out of the peoples house
ReplyDeletegreat questions
DeleteI think that the government should donate money to the people that lost there homes for good because its going to be hard to pay for rebuilding the house , furniture , and even more things they had. I feel that they made a hole lot of progress in one year. The things they finish rebuilding is amazing how they did it in one year. I wonder how much the people have to pay for there house if it had been knock down and washed away.
ReplyDeleteI think the people that lost there homes in the hurricane should be able to just get a branded new house for free. But still pay there other houses mortgage. I feel that the people lost there homes and belongings in a ferocious hurricane that they did not know was coming and they lost everything. I wonder how the people got the water out of there buildings and sand out of there houses.
ReplyDeleteI think its good that people are recovering and rebuilding there homes after hurricane sandy that happened a year ago. Its going to take them 65 billion dollars for the property damage, if people would donate money to the government it would help those people that are staying in hotels will help them get homes.
ReplyDeleteI think that how they earned the money to rebuild some places was a good idea such as having concerts that help them raise $90 billion dollars or more!!! that's amazing! I feel that what they went through is more devastating then what we went through not saying that we went through wasn't but it was nothing compared to them . I wonder when they rebuild most of the places did they make sure that it was secure and better?.

MEMORIZE IT!!
In the articles we read it talked about government funding. We even watched a video news clip where people said there was a lot of "red tape" that prevented them from getting the funding. We talked about what red tape meant. Stop and really think about it - HOW would people get free homes? Where would the money come from? THINK THINK THINK!!!
Some of you asked great questions "I wonder" statements. Where can you go to find answers?
