I loved the little field trip of where Percy lived and where he went to. It felt like we were in the book when we were looking up all the kind of different things. Also, I loved how the author actually put REAL addresses and places in the book. It made it feel more alive then usual! What i didn't like is how they didn't be more specific of where they were at on the beach. :( Other than that, the places in the book is great!! Visiting the website of where they have explored is like one of the coolest things ever. I love love love this book & we basically just started the book. :)
ReplyDeleteIt was cool that we could put in 104th and 1st street NYC and get a street view!!

Deletegood job Danielle that's a lot of detail!
DeleteGreat job Danielle i agree with you!!!!
DeleteThe field trip was actually life like . I was what it looked like and i thought i was actually there.I liked everything about it.It was nothing i had disliked about it cause everything was cool.I would love to go to the beach and just relax. Would anyone else like to go the NYC to see these sites?
ReplyDeleteOk be descriptive - what did you see? Also...capitalize I - no excuses!
DeleteI thought it was really cool that you could actually see the buildings and see where Percy"s mom worked and where they live. I also liked how it showed where Percy and his mom went for vacation.
ReplyDeleteGood start! Describe those places - what did you think of them :)
Deletethe buildings looked really old and they where huge!
DeleteYes city buildings almost take over the sky!
DeleteI thought it was awesome how the building was that big and had a lot of shops and places where you can go to eat we also got to see where Percy's mom worked. We also saw where Percy, his mom, and step dad lived and where Percy and his mom went on vacation.
ReplyDeleteYes good job - describe those places? Where does she work? What does it look like to you or what did you think of it?
DeleteThe buildings are really old
DeleteI loved the little field trip! It actually felt like I was literally standing there looking at where Percy lived. It was really life like.
ReplyDeleteThat was cool huh! I love google street view! How does seeing these places help with reading the book?
DeleteYou need to wright more and stay on topic
DeleteLarry - what do you mean? She is talking about the google street view which is on topic
DeleteI like the grand central station it was big inside and filled with bright lights and cool stuff like windows that make the light come threw them but I did not like when the author did not say were they stayed in the cabin and I like how it gives you the address for you can see it yourself like I seen were he live from satellite now that is the coolest thing every and I did not like how the author did not put every address for everything just for couple of things.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget to use punctuation to create sentences. You have good things to say here - make it count! The author wants you to use you imagination and investigate -that is why he isn't specific. :)
DeleteWhat I liked about the virtual field trip is that Percy's mom worked at a nice place in grand central is nice tourist attraction for people and the book described where he lived and where his address was. What I don't like about the book is that when Percy and his mom went on vacation the book really the cabin well.
ReplyDeleteHuh? Did you proofread this? You need punctuation and there are some words missing in the last line. :(

DeleteThis field trip was awesome because I got more informants about NYC . I saw the beach that Percy and his mom went to. Also we got to see were he lives. It was kind of beat up but it was home to him.
ReplyDeleteGreat job taking your time! Good post
DeleteThis was a great statement Quinton
DeleteAll some Paragraph good words to think of Quinton.
DeleteI enjoy this field trip of the Grand Central Station has a lot of different kinds of stores, and knowing where Percy Jackson and his mother Sally stayed in a cabin on a beach in Montauk.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your story but it wasn't enough information to me.
DeleteI liked seeing those too! Describe them for others - great start though!
DeleteThe Grand Central station is more then a train station because it has all sorts of stores and food courts. How this relates to Percy Jackson is that his mom works at a candy store there. Then Percy had to catch a taxi to get home.
ReplyDeleteYes it is MORE than a train station! :) This was only our first stop though - what did you think of the rest of our voyage?
DeleteThe field trip to Grand Central Station and were Percy lives was fun. Inside the station is really huge. It has really big windows and lots of shops . One of the shops was a candy shop.We saw a lot of neat shops there. You can refer Grand Central Station to the movie Madagascar it looks the exact same. Percy doesn't live in the best city but its a nice city. He lives in Montauk NY. He has places around were he lives that he can go, like a deli and a nearby church. Kirk Park Beach is a place that they walk to . so we think his cabin might be were that is. Well that was my trip to were Percy lives and Grand Central Station.
ReplyDeleteI love your connection of Grand Central Station to the movie Madagascar! Great Text to Text connection! As for Percy he lives in NYC but they vacationed on Montauk which is near Kirk Park Beach - great use of the google map! You are off to a great start here.
DeleteNew York City seems kind of wild but in the calm part Percy mom works in the city area in Grand-central station called the Candy shop. I like to see how they cram everything into one building with over 20 stores in there. Then where the beach was at where Percy stayed at in Montauk with his mother. NYC seems quiet like a nice town to go to visit.
ReplyDeleteIt is called Grand CENTRAL Station because it was once the central hub of all transportation in NYC. There is nothing calm about it. Also New York City is anything but a quiet town -geesh it is one of the most popular cities in the world. Montauk however is a smaller beach town on Long Island. Be sure to check yourself before you post and be certain your facts are correct. :)
DeleteThe field trip to Grand central station was amazing, I learned and seen things at grand central station that i didn't even know about. I also saw the cabin that Percy and his mother was staying in, it wasn't that fancy to me but i do know it was a great get away trip from gabe. The city that he lived in wasn't bad but he liked his home town regardless but at least he had a place to stay.
ReplyDeleteI love how you make a statement and then add your person opinion...."The city he lived in wasn't bad but at least he had a place to stay" :) Be sure to proofread for CPGS errors: I learned and saw, Grand Central Station, capitalize I!! :)
DeleteThe field trip was AMAZING!!!! I really enjoyed the Grand Central Station the thing that I like the most about the it was that it was really big and had a lot of people there which is weird because that's the reason why I thought it was awesome. But the other thing that was great about it was that they have so many stores I mean I can understand why they would have so many stores because the size of it. But I would expect little stores such as a candy store maybe a bakery and maybe a small restaurant but all the others i don't think that would come to my mind. but other than that the trip was just so explainable.
ReplyDeleteGirl we went more than to just Grand Central Station! What about the rest of the trip :) Hey see me in class about capitalizing your name in your posting account.
DeleteFirst of all this is Mychael cause my computer would not log on but anyways. The Grand Central Station ia a huge place where Percys mom works. She dose not get paid slot of money but its better then nothing. I want to know what you liked because I enjoyed the way his mom didn't care about where she is working and how much money she gets paid.
ReplyDeleteOk good job squeezing this in but what about the other stops we made? :)
